Microbiome and Metagenome Analysis Reveals Huanglongbing Affects the Abundance of Citrus Rhizosphere Bacteria Associated with Resistance and Energy Metabolism

The plant rhizosphere microbiome is known to play a vital role in health by competing with pathogens or inducing resistance. This study aims investigate microorganisms responsive devastating citrus disease caused ‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’ (CLas) infection, using 16S rRNA sequencing and metagenome technologies. results show that 30 14 root bacterial genera were significantly affected CLas including 9 resistance-associated genera. Among these, Amycolatopsis, Sphingopyxis, Chryseobacterium, Flavobacterium, Ralstonia, Stenotrophomonas, Duganella, Streptacidiphilus considerably enriched CLas-infected roots, while Rhizobium was decreased. Metagenome analysis revealed the abundance of genes involved carbohydrate metabolism, such as glycolysis, starch sucrose amino sugar nucleotide reduced microbial community. Likewise, phosphoinositide signaling which important roles energy metabolism (such lipid metabolism), also decreased samples. Taken together, our indicate infection could affect resistance potential community, may help us understand responses thus facilitate development application antagonistic microorganism products industry.
